Welding Brothers of Khervadi Village: Crafting Their Path to Success
11th Nov 2024
In Khervadi Village, Gujrat, three young men shared a vision. After working in fabrication for years, they wanted to launch their own welding business. Financial constraints held them back. Working as labourers meant they couldn’t secure equipment and a workspace with their next-to-nothing payments.
Their break came through Mukul Madhav Foundation (MMF), when our volunteers guided and financially supported these business-minded folks through our Promoting Favourable Ecosystem and Nutrition for Entrepreneurship Led by Women and Youth from Tribal Families programme in Vadodara District, Gujarat. The trio finally had enough funds to purchase second-hand equipment and take their first steps toward independence. The village gram panchayat also contributed to their dream by offering land to set up a small shed.
Within 3 months of beginning their journey, the welding brothers proved their mettle and completed jobs worth Rs. 1.5 lakhs. They’re proud to have earned a net profit of Rs. 60,000, an amount that was once beyond their dreams. These young men are now in charge of their success and they work tirelessly to deliver quality services to their clients.
When we met them after a while, it was amazing to hear them talk about the business challenges and how they unanimously agreed to prioritise their customers’ satisfaction in resolving these issues. We are now assured that they will go a long way, especially with their plans of expanding their shed and investing in new equipment to grow their business. Each project they complete brings them closer to building a future free from financial limitations.
