Relief Efforts in Phase II
The devastating second phase led to a critical shortage of beds and medical equipment in hospitals across the nation. We swiftly collaborated with compassionate organisations and provided ventilators, oxygen concentrators, pulse oximeters and other medical essentials to hospitals across 10 states. We also organised blood donation and vaccination drives and continued our support with hot meals, grocery kits and kindness kits.
During this time of crisis, we were approached by the British Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (BAPIO), UK, who let us know that various organisations in the United Kingdom were willing to donate oxygen concentrators, ventilators and pulse oximeters. CREO Medical and Hope2Sleep Charity donated this equipment. Qatar Airways supported us with a pro-bono flight to carry these while Finolex Industries took care of customs and relevant duties. On-ground support was provided by Ashok Leyland, a part of the Hinduja Group, who ensured all equipment was safely transported to rural areas across 10 states of the country. Meanwhile, shiploads of ventilators and oxygen concentrators were also being donated by our well-wishers from Bangkok and China.
