Women Upliftment
We are committed to empowering women across age groups at every given opportunity. Our range of projects spans from providing scholarships to girl students and sanitary napkins to adolescents to supporting young women, especially widows, with livelihood skills and facilities, and running an adult literacy class for geriatric women who can no longer rely on their ageing fingerprints for government verification requirements.
Our Focus Areas
Young Adolescent Girls
Our comprehensive support for young adolescent girls in rural areas includes providing bicycles to overcome transportation barriers and enhance access to education. We distribute sanitary napkins to promote menstrual hygiene, ensuring that girls can attend school without any hindrance. We organise awareness sessions on the ills of early marriages and offer preventive healthcare knowledge.

Literacy for Elderly Women
Realising the limitations of thumb-based biometrics as signatures for older individuals, we have taken a proactive step to promote adult literacy through our initiative called Aaji Bai Chi Shaala. To cultivate a culture of learning, we empower these women to promote the importance of schooling in their neighbourhoods.

Vulnerable Women

In association with Saheli Sangh, Pune, we have been supporting sex workers since 2014 with wholesome grocery kits, which include milk for their children.

Our initiatives aim to empower them to rebuild their lives with dignity as they navigate their life’s journey alone.

Period Positive Holiday Homes
To emancipate the women in Gadchiroli District from the deep-rooted patriarchal tradition of being relegated to a dilapidated hut (Kurma Ghar) during menstruation, we envisaged the concept of Period Positive Holiday Homes – with all the comforts of a home. Turning a time of discomfort and isolation into a time of rest and relaxation, these modern, comfortable resting places were built with the help of local volunteers and the provided construction material. These days spent at the homes are also used to skill the women in tailoring.
