WATER CONSERVATION
Water, the lifeblood of existence, binds us together in a profound way. Amidst India’s agrarian reliance, water scarcity looms as an urgent concern. We are addressing this challenge by supporting various water conservation projects in Maharashtra and Gujarat. Through the provision of water tankers, repair and construction of cement nala bunds, cleaning of percolation tanks and water body rejuvenation, we forge a harmonious path to ensure an unwavering flow of this precious resource.
Our Focus Areas
Renewal of Water Sources
Our water conservation initiatives encompass a wide range of projects that include the repair and building of dams and the setting up of storage tanks to elevate the groundwater level, thus irrigating agricultural land to empower farmers. To improve water storage, we widen, deepen, desilt and repair water reservoirs and percolation tanks, and clean the river that flows into them.
Desilting project inauguration in Ravgaon and Ghotti villages, Maharashtra. In Ravgaon, the project will revitalise over 70 wells and transform 80-85 acres of barren land, benefiting 1,000+ people. In Ghotti, 70 wells will be impacted, restoring 50 acres of land and aiding 900+ villagers. These efforts are vital for water conservation in a region known for its 6,500 borewells.

Safe Drinking Water
As part of our various Water Schemes for rural communities, we install electric and solar-powered water pumps, water storage tanks and pipeline networks to ensure a steady supply of water around the year. We clean and maintain these facilities to ensure safe drinking water and educate the people in hygiene practices. We also try and solve the rural water crisis during the summer by providing many drought-facing villages and fishing communities with water tankers.

Rainwater Harvesting
We educate institutions and rural communities on how best to utilise nature’s bounty and devise rainwater harvesting projects that provide versatile solutions to domestic and farming issues. We also implement watershed development programmes as part of our water conservation efforts to increase the water table across villages in the region.

Setting Up of Water Sources
We dig jack wells and borewells, build Cement Nala Bunds (CNBs) and support these with a pipeline network to ensure continuous drinking water supply to rural communities. We also install electric pumps and irrigation systems to help with domestic and agricultural activities. We have also supported 5 villages in the Satara District for their participation in the Satyamev Jayate Water Cup 2019, an annual 45-day competition between villages to maximise soil and water conservation, in collaboration with Paani Foundation and Dream Foundation.
