Mukul Madhav Vidyalaya
Our dream project, Mukul Madhav Vidyalaya, located in Golap Village, Ratnagiri, spans 10 acres of land generously provided by Finolex Industries with a vision to bring urban education to rural Maharashtra. Since its inception in 2010 with 150 students, Mukul Madhav Vidyalaya has grown to over 600 students from nursery to class 12, including a junior college offering science and commerce streams. Despite its rural setting, the school provides modern facilities, well-trained faculty and comprehensive education. With state-of-the-art infrastructure, including science labs, libraries, a computer lab, a multipurpose hall, digital classrooms, and a playground, we strive to shape each student’s potential for a brighter future. Guided by our motto of ‘Service to Mankind’, our dedicated staff is committed to empowering students to make a meaningful impact on the world.
Mukul Madhav Vidyalaya was inaugurated on June 24th, 2010, by the Director of Education, State Government, Bhalchandra Desale and renowned actor, Shilpa Shetty, in the presence of Executive Chairman of Finolex Industries, Prakash Pralhad Chhabria and eminent authorities of Ratnagiri. It is a matter of great pride that four batches of students have graduated from the 10th grade with excellent results and two batches from the 12th grade.
We offer spacious and well-ventilated classrooms, clean and hygienic toilet blocks and RO filters for safe drinking water. We inculcate sports among the students from an early age, with indoor games like chess and carrom, training in karate and aerobics, and opportunities to explore other sports on our 30,000-square-foot playground.
Our well-stocked library has over 1,800 titles belonging to both Indian and international authors. We also have a well-equipped science laboratory, a computer laboratory and a multimedia room. The school includes a 3,000-square-foot multipurpose hall where we host awareness and mentoring sessions by expert guests and performance art events that include the students’ performances.
We celebrate all festivals, national days and language days with great enthusiasm and fervour. We arrange for educational excursions to factories and recreational visits to orphanages and old age homes. We also conduct beach-cleaning and tree plantation drives to promote environmental awareness among the students.
The school has an enthusiastic arts and music culture. Our students are trained in tabla under the guidance of a renowned teacher from Ratnagiri, as well as Hindustani classical vocals, the piano and drums. Our resident art teacher has been instrumental in inspiring students to participate in interschool and state-level competitions. Some of our students have received scholarships to attend short courses in German, within the country and overseas.
To promote wellness among our students, we conduct free medical assessment camps twice a year and provide healthcare support to students when required. During the pandemic, we arranged for a vaccination drive to safeguard our students from the deadly virus.
Keeping in mind the ever-changing needs of the students, our teachers are trained in-house and with experts from Mumbai and Pune. We have set up a counselling programme to work towards identifying and rectifying the learning disabilities and behavioural problems of our students who need it.
The premises are monitored by a CCTV system and a team of security guards has been hired for the safety and security of the school. We have a traffic management system in place for vehicles that bring our students to school. We have also made arrangements to provide teachers with pick-up and drop facilities.
Finolex Industries Limited has played a big part in the growth and success of the school. Besides donating the land, they have also donated the building and infrastructure. We are grateful to them for their long-standing support.
