Rural Development
To uplift living conditions in rural India, we actively contribute to the infrastructural development of villages. We undertake a wide range of initiatives, including improving educational institutions, building homes, illuminating public spaces and streets, implementing water conservation and sanitation projects, organising tree plantation drives, and empowering women and youth through income generation programmes. We have adopted tribal villages in Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu and dedicate our efforts and resources to ensure the development of these communities.
Our Focus Areas
Smokeless Chulha
Smokeless Chulhas address the technical limitations of the traditional chulha or wood fire stove, and reduce indoor emissions, which have an adverse impact on the health of women and children as well as the environment. We built 100 smokeless chulhas in the villages of Dushantola, Kanargaon, Nimgaon and Nimanwada in the Gadchiroli District, Nagpur.

Solar Street Lights
As part of an ongoing initiative since 2017, we provide non-conventional energy sources to support rural and tribal families. To create a safe pathway for villagers after sundown and illuminate public spaces, we have installed solar-powered high mast lamps and street lights in villages of the Palghar District, Maharashtra, and Khadki Gram Panchayat in the Valsad District of Gujarat. We have also supported 1,250 households in the tribal villages of Palghar and Gadchiroli districts with solar lights and a solar pump.

LED Streetlights
Insufficient lighting still persists in villages across India. This not only poses safety concerns but also hinders daily activities and limits social interactions. We installed 100 LED streetlights in Jalalpur village, Maharashtra. And we aspire to brighten more villages in the future.

Sanitation
We construct sanitation facilities for households and communities so that the underprivileged can live in a dignified manner. Through this initiative, we have successfully transformed 23 villages in the Palghar and Gadchiroli districts of Maharashtra into open defecation-free (ODF) zones. We have also ensured safety and menstrual hygiene for the women of Gadchiroli District by constructing 15 Period Positive Homes – modern, comfortable spaces to reside during their menstruation.

Village Adoption
To enable sustainable livelihoods and community well-being, we adopt villages across India that are in dire need of developmental interventions. Our initiative began in 2017 with consistent support to the tribal and rural communities in the Palghar, Gadchiroli and Ratnagiri districts of Maharashtra. In 2022, we adopted three villages – Irular, Ooranambedu and Sunami Nagar – in the Thiruvallur District, and the tribal communities at 10 Gram Panchayats of Kolli Hills in the Namakkal District, both in Tamil Nadu. The second phase in 2023 continues to bring skill development and livelihood opportunities to these three villages. We empower these communities with support for primary and high school education, vocational skill training, and safe drinking water and sanitation facilities to ensure a better quality of life.

Enhancing Digital Access
We recognise the importance of extending the ease of digital services in rural areas. We introduced the Digital Sewa Kendra in Sampla, Haryana. This centre simplifies access to government schemes and offers informative pamphlets on various subjects.
